Rapid Implementation
Software implementation projects (particularly ERP) are renowned for causing significant disturbances
to manufacturing operations. Mestec, however, has a fast-track implementation process that ensures the
minimum disruption to existing business processes.
This is because:
- All system set-up, configuration, testing and training is conducted ‘off-line'. Once the system is ready to be applied to the live production environment, it can be done so without adversely affecting productivity.
- The shop-floor Workstation component of the Mestec system is designed to provide relevant information and guidance to plant-floor operators such that their job becomes easier. Its intuitive nature means that practically no training is required whatsoever. So after ‘go-live', the plant-floor becomes immediately more productive.
- The primary objective within the implementation process is to achieve the fastest possible Return On Investment. The best way to ensure success is to measure the real tangible benefits as a check against the original business case, and make improvements to the system and process where required. The Mestec Visualisation Manager will report on the improvement profile of various Key Performance Indicators and will suggest where further short-term benefits can be realised.
- The entire implementation can take as little as 30 days. This also means that very short-term benefits can be expected with minimal personnel time commitment (from the manufacturing organisation).
