Mestec announce results of the recently conducted Manufacturing Leadership Survey (Jun 2007)Mestec, Oracle and Sun investigate the difficulties faced by UK based manufacturers when trying to drive further cost and productivity efficiencies on the plant floor.'Part 1' of the survey specifically focussed upon the Aerospace & Defence sectors. The results and statistics are now available in a published paper.Some of the most compelling statistics are as follows:* 75% of respondents admitted that they believe that there are many wastes in their manufacturing plants that they haven't been able to pinpoint and therefore rectify as a direct result of lack of general 'visibility'.
* 81% of 'head of finance' respondents stated that they need to drive out more cost within the manufacturing process than their current improvement initiatives would allow.
* 71% of 'head of manufacturing' respondents stated that they would like to further speed-up new product introductions and get products to customers faster.
